You've been running on empty, and you can't remember the last time you felt like yourself.
Worry follows you to bed and is waiting when you wake.
You've lost someone or something, and people expect you to be "over it."
You're holding everyone else together while quietly coming apart.
The same arguments keep happening with the people you love most.
The voice in your head is harder on you than you'd ever be on anyone else.
Starting is enough.
Services
When the days feel empty, flat or heavy.
Sometimes low mood follows a loss or a big change. Sometimes it settles in for no reason you can name. Either way, it's real, and therapy can help. Together we sort out what's weighing on you and work toward practical steps, not just talk.
When your mind won't stop scanning for danger.
Anxiety is your body's alarm system working overtime. Through mindfulness, questioning anxious thoughts, and gradually facing what you've been avoiding at a pace you can manage, therapy can help bring anxiety down to a level you can live with.
When life asks more than you have to give.
When everything has to happen "right now," your body can stay stuck in high gear, and that wears on your health and your relationships. We'll work on ways to cope, set limits and recover, for your sake and for the people you love.
When the same conflicts keep coming back.
Family, friends and partners shape who we become. In individual sessions, therapy can help you understand how you communicate, say what you need honestly, listen so others feel heard, and work through conflict without losing yourself. If you feel unsafe in a relationship, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available at 1-800-799-7233.
When "not good enough" is on repeat.
How you see yourself colors everything. We'll look at the expectations you carry, practice measuring yourself against your own progress instead of other people's, and learn to treat mistakes as a normal part of growing. A kinder, healthier view of yourself is possible.
When a loss changes everything.
Grief keeps its own timetable, and there's no right or wrong way to grieve. The loss might be a person, a pet, a pregnancy, a job, a move, a diagnosis or a dream. Therapy gives you room to feel what you feel, find healthy ways to express it, and keep moving forward at your own pace.
When caring for someone leaves little left for you.
Caring for an aging parent, a partner who is ill or a family member who needs extra help can be meaningful and exhausting at the same time. Therapy gives you a place to set down the weight for an hour, sort through guilt, grief and frustration, and find ways to look after yourself while you look after them.
Our approach
Starting therapy is a big step. It often comes after a long stretch of trying to handle things on your own. A typical session is 50 minutes of one-on-one time that is yours. You decide what matters and what "better" would look like. We bring structure, skills and steady support.
Therapy is a partnership. You know your life best, and we work side by side toward the goals you choose.
We build on what's already working for you, not only on what feels broken.
Sessions draw on well-established approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, person-centered therapy, and family systems ideas used in individual sessions. We choose what fits you, because one size doesn't fit all.

About
I was born in Louisiana and raised in Mississippi. For more than twenty-five years I've worked with people during some of the hardest times in their lives. That work has included nonprofit and grant-funded programs, inpatient psychiatric care, intensive outpatient programs, and now my own practice here in Gulfport.
I believe the way we think, feel and act reflects the story we tell ourselves, and that with support, that story can change. I care deeply about mental wellness and about ending the stigma that keeps people from asking for help.
I try to meet each person where they are. We all have a story to tell. I look forward to meeting you.

What to expect
Call 228-364-1623, Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm. Cori is often in session, so please leave a voicemail with your name and number. Voicemail is private, and every call is returned within 48 hours, usually sooner. Voicemail isn't for emergencies; if you're in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911. Deaf or hard of hearing? Reach us through Mississippi Relay at 711.
After your first phone call, we'll send you an intake packet to complete online before your first visit.
In your first session or two, we talk about your history, what brought you in and what you'd like to be different.
By the third session, we set clear goals and agree on how often to meet. Weekly is common at first, and we adjust as you go.
Sessions are available in our office at 3427 Washington Avenue in Gulfport, or by telehealth for clients who are in Mississippi at the time of the session.

Payment is due at the start of each session. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Fees may change over time, and you'll always be told ahead of time.
There's no charge to cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice. With less notice, or if you miss a session, the fee is $100. Emergencies are handled case by case. After two late cancellations or missed sessions, a regular appointment time may be offered to another client. If you're running late, please call. If we haven't heard from you 20 minutes after your appointment time, we'll assume you can't make it.
Under the federal No Surprises Act, if you don't have insurance or aren't using insurance for your therapy (including if you pay us directly and file for reimbursement yourself), you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost.
Our estimates look 12 months ahead, based on current rates and how often we agree to meet. They cover regularly scheduled sessions. They don't cover missed sessions, late cancellations or crisis care, because those can't be predicted.

An estimate is not a contract, and it may change. You can ask for an updated one at any time. Ongoing clients receive a new estimate every 12 months. Please keep a copy. Learn more at www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

We decide together. Weekly sessions are common at first, and we revisit the schedule as you go. A typical session is 50 minutes.
Yes. What you share is kept confidential, with some exceptions the law allows or requires, such as a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else; suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, which must be reported; a court order; and information your insurance company needs to process claims, if you use insurance. We'll go over this at your first appointment, and you're welcome to ask before then.
Trust how you feel. You should feel at ease, respected and truly listened to. Over time, you should feel that the work is moving in a direction that matters to you, and you can always talk with your therapist about how it's going.
